AYO Technology

First things first.

We had a truly tragic start to the Olympics
here in Vancouver yesterday when a
Georgian luge athlete died in training. I just
want to send my condolences out to his
family, friends and teammates.

Did anybody get a chance to watch the
opening ceremonies?

I thought they were quite well done.
Except for the malfunction during the torch
lighting..not gonna lie I was laughing pretty
hard when the torches werent coming out.

Anyhoo how was everyones week? Just wanna
say thank you to everyone who came out
to watch us play at Coquitlam Centre on
Thursday. It was alot of fun!

So now I'm gonna go on a bit of a rant.

The other day I was at the movies. I'm
in line to buy my tickets and I see this
group of about 6 or 7 kids walk in. At first
I thought it was weird because none of them
were speaking to each other then I realized
the reason for that is because every single
one of them has Ipod headphones in. So
immediately I figure they must not be
together then UNTIL one of them pops
out an earphone, points to which movie
they wanna see all 6 of them nod approval
and he sticks the headphone back in.
That means..that these kids are here
together as a group seeing a movie..but
they're all listening to IPODS with both
ears in.

Now I'm not trying to judge anybody here
but is that not the most disconnected,
sad picture of the world we live in right
now. I immediately got reminded of the
movie "Wall-E" and that scared me.
Direct Human to Human interaction seems
to be becoming less and less popular
and to be honest thats scary. I remember
just a few years ago when I was a little
younger we didn't call people to hang out,
we didn't text them, we walked over to
their house and knocked on the door!

Call me an old fashioned pessimist but
I can't endorse it. We're slowly destroying
every connection we ever had with this
planet, with each other, and turning into
ghosts of ourselves.

I'm sure this will turn into a song at some
point, possibly called "Ghost Town",
which I just pulled out of nothin but isnt
a bad title. Anyway that was my rant
for the day.

Speaking of songs I need to recruit you
and all your friends on a mission. If you
guys didn't know The Latency just put
out a new single titled "Fork In The Road".
Much Music and MuchMore Music have
both added the video for it, and it has been
sent to radio across Canada.

I need you and your friends to request
like you've never requested anything
in your life! And if they don't play it
use Jedi Mind Tricks on them..
"You will play this song" haha.

Anybody can request the vid on Much
or MuchMore but for the radio stations
make sure its in your area. So if you live
in Toronto, request on a Toronto station
like Chum. If you live in Vancouver,
request on a Vancouver station like Virgin
etc etc and so on and so forth.

If you guys could help us out we would
appreciate it very very much. Anyone
who has already been requesting thank you
so much you are awesome.

Thats it for me guys oh and I promise
the Bungee Jump video is going up real soon
I've been slacking I know.

Until next week friends!

I'm a Geek.

It seems like I'm forming a bad habit of sleeping
in every Saturday. The good old noon wakeup!

Well lets talk about the week! Fork In The Road debuted
on Tuesday which was awesome. You guys made
The Latency the #1 trending topic on Twitter in Canada
by tuning in to our Ustream party so thank you
all SO much :) There is only 2 things left to do.
1. Check out the music video which should be hitting
MuchMusic next week.
2. Request, Request, Request like MADDD!
I think that between Us and you guys...we could
probably take over the world. Kinda like
Pinky and the Brain. The Latency would
be Pinky, you guys would be The Brain!

NARF!!!!!!!

Great now I have that theme song stuck
in my head. So heres a fun fact about myself.
I like The Lord of The Rings...ALOT.
Its my favorite Book/Movie/Story. Now this past
week I've been re-watching the movies and
I stumbled upon this monologue that one of
the characters gives. Even if you're not a
fan of the story I think this monologue can
give everyone something to think about.
I know it definitely made me think
pretty hard. So check it out!

Until next week friends!

Lightweight Baby!

Saturday...I apparently forgot that today was Saturday.
So here is my late blog!

How was everyone's week? I hope it was exciting. Not as exciting as next week
though. Monday February 1st, is the day that The Latency's new single
"Fork In The Road" hits radio in Canada! I dunno about you but I`m pretty
stoked! On that day Me and the other boys will be doing a live UStream party
to celebrate at 4PM PST, 7PM EST.

Check that out here: http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Ftinyurl.com%2Flatencypremiere&h=c6cb4b35d0f9046d3bc773f7ca5d3a3e

I`m excited to get back on Ustream and talk to you all again. Also if you live
in the Vancouver area Virgin Radio Vancouver 95.3 will be premeiring the
song at 5PM PST!

Well now that I`m finished promoting lol lets talk!
So I have a few thoughts and thanks I`d like to extend to you guys now.

Last week I posted a bit of lyrics on here and asked for your thoughts.
Thank you for your comments. Its about something I`ve been thinking
about alot lately. When we`re young, we`re blessed with innocence, and hope,
and dreams, and all these big things that we want to achieve in life. Then we
grow up and slowly but surely life tears us down, rips us apart, chews us up
and spits us right back out. Unfortunately alot of us lose those things we had.
We forget what it means to dream with hope. We stop believing in things and
start to settle for them. But I think if you can manage to hold on to just one
little piece of that youthful innocence, Just a bit of that soul, Just enough to
help you remember whats really important, I think that you will finally get to
where you`ve always wanted to be. Thats the general thought that inspired
the lyrics. I guess I`m in a very defiant headspace right now :P

I`m working on turning them into a song right now. Maybe I`ll post more on
here and you guys can help me out next week :)

Well thats enough of my ranting, I wish you all an excellent week and hope
to talk to you on Monday for the `Fork In The Road release party. And while
we`re in the mood just remember:

When life kicks you kick back harder
If life wins you come back smarter
And whenever someone TELLS you, you can`t do something
SHOW them that you can.

Love.

New Latency Single/Ideas/Random Thoughts

Hello again!

So as I said I am gonna be posting one of these every Saturday and it is once
again that time of the week. How was everyones week? Mine was pretty cool.
I jumped off a bridge (attached to a bungee cord of course) for my 20th
birthday last Saturday! That was so scary but so fun at the same time. I would
highly reccomend trying it though..even if you are afraid of heights like
me..video coming soon.

Anyway: This past week I was in Toronto with my band, The Latency, filming
the music video for our new single titled: Fork In The Road. The song is being
released to radio next week I believe and the video will come shortly after.
I couldn't be more excited as this song means alot to me and is very personal.
The video is gonna be our best yet I think, our director Alon is doing an
amazing job and the shoot was so much fun. Thanks again to all the fans who
came out on Day 1 you guys are unbelievable! I hope you will all request it on
your local radio stations and MuchMusic when it is released :)

As well this week I am closing in on the completion of a song I am recording
with Dave Faber from the band Faber Drive. I can't post a clip yet but I can tell you that the song is titled "Lovers Lane". I am really excited about being back
in the studio and laying down all these new ideas. I have about 7 in the works
right now! *Random Thought Alert!* I really hope Conan O'Brien gets a new
show because lets be honest..hes the funniest guy on Late Night. Sorry had to
get that out haha.

Well that was basically my week! I'm gonna leave you with an idea that just
popped into my head. I know your all poets so please don't be shy and throw
me some feedback.

"We were dreaming of New York skies
Ya we wanted that landslide life
Then we grew up so fast and the dreams didn't last
Cause we all lost our wide eyes, looking up at the New York skies"

Does that feel depressing or hopeful? Or both?
Let me know! I wish you all an amazing week and I'll tty next Saturday

Mucho Love.

My 20th Birthday/Blog Renewal!

So internet...It's been a while..I've missed you..You never called me after that
last Youtube date we had...I feel like we've grown apart.

Do I really know where I'm going with this? Absolutely not.

Hello!

So I have decided that on this 16th day of January, In the year of 2010, I am going to start
posting on this Blog again. I will be posting everything from the songs I'm working on, studio updates, my random thoughts on life, and cool clips and things that I'm into.

This day also happens to be my 20th Birthday. I'm scared. 20 is a big number. I am officially no
longer a teenager. I remember being a kid and thinking about being 20 and saying to my mom "I'll almost be dead when I'm that old" haha. Really puts it in perspective.

So I decided that to celebrate I'm gonna head on up to Whistler and Bungee Jump. I'm afraid of heights so it should be interesting but I'm gonna try really hard to get a video I can post on Youtube later.

Also I have been in the studio with my friend Dave Faber for the last week recording a song we wrote together. Should be done next week which is really exciting! I will also be starting my own studio sessions next weekend so expect some new material posted up here soon so I can have some thoughts from all you lovely people.

Well I'm gonna cut this off before I start to ramble. Hopefully this was the first of many updates and Please, Please, Please leave comments and thoughts here. I would love to hear from you guys.

Here's to a fruitful 2010 (I have a great feeling about this year btw!)

Ola for now friends!

Love. Love.
