First things first.
We had a truly tragic start to the Olympics
here in Vancouver yesterday when a
Georgian luge athlete died in training. I just
want to send my condolences out to his
family, friends and teammates.
Did anybody get a chance to watch the
opening ceremonies?
I thought they were quite well done.
Except for the malfunction during the torch
lighting..not gonna lie I was laughing pretty
hard when the torches werent coming out.
Anyhoo how was everyones week? Just wanna
say thank you to everyone who came out
to watch us play at Coquitlam Centre on
Thursday. It was alot of fun!
So now I'm gonna go on a bit of a rant.
The other day I was at the movies. I'm
in line to buy my tickets and I see this
group of about 6 or 7 kids walk in. At first
I thought it was weird because none of them
were speaking to each other then I realized
the reason for that is because every single
one of them has Ipod headphones in. So
immediately I figure they must not be
together then UNTIL one of them pops
out an earphone, points to which movie
they wanna see all 6 of them nod approval
and he sticks the headphone back in.
That means..that these kids are here
together as a group seeing a movie..but
they're all listening to IPODS with both
ears in.
Now I'm not trying to judge anybody here
but is that not the most disconnected,
sad picture of the world we live in right
now. I immediately got reminded of the
movie "Wall-E" and that scared me.
Direct Human to Human interaction seems
to be becoming less and less popular
and to be honest thats scary. I remember
just a few years ago when I was a little
younger we didn't call people to hang out,
we didn't text them, we walked over to
their house and knocked on the door!
Call me an old fashioned pessimist but
I can't endorse it. We're slowly destroying
every connection we ever had with this
planet, with each other, and turning into
ghosts of ourselves.
I'm sure this will turn into a song at some
point, possibly called "Ghost Town",
which I just pulled out of nothin but isnt
a bad title. Anyway that was my rant
for the day.
Speaking of songs I need to recruit you
and all your friends on a mission. If you
guys didn't know The Latency just put
out a new single titled "Fork In The Road".
Much Music and MuchMore Music have
both added the video for it, and it has been
sent to radio across Canada.
I need you and your friends to request
like you've never requested anything
in your life! And if they don't play it
use Jedi Mind Tricks on them..
"You will play this song" haha.
Anybody can request the vid on Much
or MuchMore but for the radio stations
make sure its in your area. So if you live
in Toronto, request on a Toronto station
like Chum. If you live in Vancouver,
request on a Vancouver station like Virgin
etc etc and so on and so forth.
If you guys could help us out we would
appreciate it very very much. Anyone
who has already been requesting thank you
so much you are awesome.
Thats it for me guys oh and I promise
the Bungee Jump video is going up real soon
I've been slacking I know.
Until next week friends!
TTFN (Ta Ta For Now)
Love,
Brandon

Ironic how there were absolutely no technical difficulties until the lighting. As for the ipod thing...I don't think I've really seen people at my school with both buds in. Usually we're having a conversation while listening to our ipods through one bud.
I found out the death of the Georgian luge athlete online! It's very sad news and how quickly a dream can be shattered.
Rip.
I have to say, Although I was not at the Coquitlam Centre (I live in Ontario) I absolutely loved the cover of "Iris"! Everything was just amazing about it. :)
I don't think you're the first to state this! Technology has changed our world within what, the last 10 years? Internet, texting, ect. I remember when only like your parents had cell phones and it was very uncommon for kids to have. I walked through my old elementary school a few years back to find a young 9 year old with a cell phone. I just don't understand it all myself either. But I do have to say the internet does come in handy, especially for promotion and well, there would be no "Brandon's Blog" without it! :) haha.
You will not believe how I feel about Fork In The Road not premiering yet on MOD! I keep checking every day of the week and nothing. I have seen it several times on a music channel called "PunchMuch" though! I love starting my morning off with The Latency on TV. :)
Anyway, just to some all that up; I have been requesting a great amount and I will continue to do so until FIRT reaches #1 like it deserves to be!
Look forward to seeing that video! After watching the MOD Vj's bungee jumping yesterday, I give you credit bud!
Take care! :) xo
I really can't wait 'till the bungee jumping video! Lol My condolences also go out to the family and friends of Georgian luge athlete. Rip.
Thank you Brandon. I never knew what TTFN stood for. You are, once again, my hero!
I know, technology is kind of ruining social interaction. No one calls me anymore they text me. Walking isn't really an option for me haha... I live in the country and my friends all live at least ten minutes away driving time.
Coquitlam Centre sounded like a cool show. I wasn't there but I saw videos. The 'Iris' cover was amazing, it's one of my favourite songs & you definitely did it justice. I really think you should play it more often for shows.
My week went quick.
I have requested the video many times! I really like it.
Looking forward to the bungee video haha should be cool.
Ghost Town sounds like a cool title. -- Idea, 'the worst way to miss someone is when they are sitting right beside you.' like the headphone thing or texting, you can't have a full converstation with someone with out them having their attention on something or someone else. It's very frustrating. I'm guilty of it but, I'm trying to keep my texting/ computer or internet time to a minimum and focus on what's real and in front of my eyes.
Hope you have a good 'Singles Awareness Day' tomorrow. Hahah! (Aka Valentine's Day)
Til next week- Brit...
Ps. Hah. I liked your tweet about your Jedi coat. Star Wars is cool.
dude, you are so right about technology. I'm a teen and i agre with you HARDCORE! well i always listen to my ipod, but when im with people, like out or something, i don't, only if im not doin anything and im ssuuuuper bored. but i agree, so your not the only one Brando! & i've been requesting like CRAAAAAAAZY, i probably requested about 17 times in 2 minutes! haha and im not stopping :)! you guys need to be at #1! :D and teh Opening Ceremonies was AWESOME! Niki's performance was so great, she's amzing! and yeah the death at the beginning is so upsetting, my dad was telling me how it happen, and it was so terrible! :(
yeah man there should be like... a one day where no one uses technology.
no computers,
no phones,
heck,
no tv.
and besides bringing back face to face communication between people, think of how much energy we would save too.
anyways,
love the music video!
i'll request it more than i have :)
have a good week brandon!
I agree with the whole thing to do with the kids at the movies, I mean really.
also the show that you played in Coquitlam was awesome! haha thanks for meeting me and my friend last even though you had to go, honestly it was a dream come through. thank you (:
oh don't worry, I'll be requesting like mad along with my friends (:
have a good weekend!! <3
lovelovelove
Chelse
*Chelsea hah sorry I failed at typing there xD
my week was great, me & my friend cassy auditioned again for that talent show i told you about before, and now we are singing & im playing tonight i love you & all you wanted! :) <3 it was also amazing because i finally got to see the fork in the road video! which was freaking amazing btw! i voted like crazy and im so glad it got to the #1 spot today, you guys deserve it! :) <3 i will keep requesting & voting like mad! :) haha and yes i will also jedi mind trick them "PLAY THE LATENCY'S FORK IN THE ROAD, PLAY THE LATENCY'S FOR IN THE ROAD"!
about the those kids at the movie theater all i can say is woooow. what is technology doing to our world. thats just insaine soon there will be hardly any personal contact anymore and thats just horrible. i think that would be awesome if you guys made a song about that and p.s "Ghost Town" is an amazing title! :) <3
im really excited to see the bungee jumping video also! :) kay so yesterday i was watching mod live at the base in whistler and the vj's went bungee jumping there like how you did and i was thinking to myself i wonder if thats where brandon went bungee jumping!? anyway haha "TTFN (Ta Ta For Now)" lmfao thats why i love you :) <3
I read about Nodar Kumaritashvili's death. Yes, it was tragic. From what I read it was his dream to be a part of the Olympics. :( It's funny how death shows it's ugly head on all the wrong timings. Condolences to Nodar, his family and friends.
Those kids should have just gone to the theaters alone if they wouldn't even talk to each other. Seriously, there's something wrong with how fast the technology improves. "Ghost Town" is catchy title, make a song Brandon!
FITR is now at number 1 on MOD, am I right? I'm just glad that I was one of the thousands of people who voted for it :) Awesome video, awesome song and awesome band? Who wouldn't vote for that! You guys deserve to be on the #1 spot! I just want to say that I enjoy and love reading your posts, Brandon. Thanks!!
I totally agree with all the technology stuff. I really miss when people would write letter to eachother and not just text all the time. Anyways, Im so excited to see the bungee video ;)
b.lehti your slacking, wheres the video ? :P
i loved the new songs and the cover of someday and iris.. get your butt back to ontario please and thank you :)
i totally agree.
& jedi mind tricks will for sure do it so dont worry.
(:

I found that so shocking when I first heard about that poor athelete passing away it really is sad my prays to all his family and firends.
On a happier note though, I didn't manage to go check out your show at the Coquitlam Center. But I don't doubt it was nothing short of AWESOME!!! because The Latency rocks!! also I really enjoyed reading your little story about the seven kids and them being glued to their ipods. Its really quite sad our way of life has been focused around technology like its great but replacing the wa we socialize isn't! I completely agree with you on that. Also want to let you know I've been requesting your video constantly on Much Music and will continue to do so since its awesome! and until next week have a good one and take care! :) <3
ps: sorry for this super long comment!
