Hello again!
So as I said I am gonna be posting one of these every Saturday and it is once
again that time of the week. How was everyones week? Mine was pretty cool.
I jumped off a bridge (attached to a bungee cord of course) for my 20th
birthday last Saturday! That was so scary but so fun at the same time. I would
highly reccomend trying it though..even if you are afraid of heights like
me..video coming soon.
Anyway: This past week I was in Toronto with my band, The Latency, filming
the music video for our new single titled: Fork In The Road. The song is being
released to radio next week I believe and the video will come shortly after.
I couldn't be more excited as this song means alot to me and is very personal.
The video is gonna be our best yet I think, our director Alon is doing an
amazing job and the shoot was so much fun. Thanks again to all the fans who
came out on Day 1 you guys are unbelievable! I hope you will all request it on
your local radio stations and MuchMusic when it is released :)
As well this week I am closing in on the completion of a song I am recording
with Dave Faber from the band Faber Drive. I can't post a clip yet but I can tell you that the song is titled "Lovers Lane". I am really excited about being back
in the studio and laying down all these new ideas. I have about 7 in the works
right now! *Random Thought Alert!* I really hope Conan O'Brien gets a new
show because lets be honest..hes the funniest guy on Late Night. Sorry had to
get that out haha.
Well that was basically my week! I'm gonna leave you with an idea that just
popped into my head. I know your all poets so please don't be shy and throw
me some feedback.
"We were dreaming of New York skies
Ya we wanted that landslide life
Then we grew up so fast and the dreams didn't last
Cause we all lost our wide eyes, looking up at the New York skies"
Does that feel depressing or hopeful? Or both?
Let me know! I wish you all an amazing week and I'll tty next Saturday
Mucho Love.
Brandon

the poem was great and I think it was both depressing and hopeful. the person who inspired you to write that poem is really really lucky.:)
When I was younger I pretty much wanted to live in New York; to go to college there.. but a lot has happened and I think it's been years since I last visited that place. So I REALLY REALLY like this :) THNX.
AWESOME! I can't wait to hear the new song! Even the name sounds amazing :)And I love Dave Faber too! You guys need to come down to Ottawa to shoot your next video! Or on tour sooooon ♥

About 5 minutes ago I was like, it's SATURDAY! I hope Brandon is still following through with his blog promise, and you did!
I had SO much fun at the video shoot! Thanks for letting me be apart of it. :)
I'm so excited to see how the video turned out!
I really think that poem has alot of potential! I really like the last line. Keep up the great work, as always. <3
Really excited about the FITR video :)
I think your idea will turn out really great if you're gonna make a song out of it (most likely haha)and I guess it's a mix of both? Depressing and hopeful, maybe depending on what mood you're in. :)
So the bungee jumping went well then, hah that's good. I dunno if I could do it maybe I'll try it one day. Looking forward to seeing the video. =)
I am stoked for this music video, I really like the song, it's sad but it's happy at the same time. Does that make sense? And I will definitely request it.
I am very much looking forward to this song. I have wanted you and Dave to work together for a long time... And not it's happening which is very exciting.
Yeah, I'm really going to miss Conan. I watched the last show last night did you?
So basically what comes to mind when I read those few lines is that we all have dreams of things we want to do when we are kids. But, as we grow older things get in the way and cloud our vision and we can't see or remember those things we wanted. I like it, it's not really depressing it's just a true sad fact of life. You can dream, but it's not necessarily going to come true for you.
bothhh. depressing because it's how we all feel growing up, when we realise we can't be kids forever and do the stuff we've always wanted to do. but hopeful because we can still have dreams, and try to achieve 'em :)
You're back :)
It's exciting to hear you have new songs in the works, I'm very excited to hear them.
Now the poem was disturbingly similar to something a friend and I were discussing just the other day. As kids we all dream of this awesome life and all the things we want to achieve. The places we want to go, the people we want to meet and our ideal/dream life. Yet, as we start working towards this ideal we lose track of what is important, get caught up in the world. I was trying to think of 'Bucket' list type items and came to the depressing conclusion that I DON'T remember these little things I wanted. That's what your poem made me think of. So I suppose it's a sad moment when you realize you've lost your way and don't know why you do the things you do anymore... yet, in a sense this serves as a reminder that we can still live our dreams. It's never too late. In a sense it's the idea of growing up, something that scares the s--- out of me. So there. Once again someone has said the things I feel in an artistic format. Thanks.
Depending on what kind of mood your in I think it can be taken both ways.
heey, :) so glad bungee jumping went well, haha i was kinda worried :|., i love doing crazy things like that but i dunno if i could ever go bungee jumping but since you reccomended it we will see :) haha, so freaking excited to see the fork in the road video, & i will definitely request it when it gets on much & the radio, i love that song! also very very pumped to hear your song with dave, i think it will be amazing! im so happy your back in the studio working on songs, im really excited to hear them! and about you "idea" i think that it is kinda depressing but also meaningful & inspiring and of course i think its hopeful, every song made in your thoughts is hopeful :) your amazing brandon N.E.V.E.R forget that! :) <3 p.s i love the 3rd line "Then we grew up so fast and the dreams didn't last" because when we all grow up we always put dreams/hopes and things aside so i think it wonderful, just like you.
iloveyou., <3 p.s come back to regina or sask area soon, we miss you!

i can only say..that i am really hoping that i will hear that verse in an upcoming song/album. :) so i am very excited.
Hey Brandon,
I think it’s great you’re keeping up with a blog... You’ve reminded me to continue with mine, though I doubt anyone will be reading it. About those verses... I think it’s bittersweet. I think it can be swayed depending on the melody if you want to give it a depressing or happy tone, really... I think it’s really about appreciating every day, in and out, because once you’ve grown up, you sort of lose your sense of naivety and carelessness (which could be a good thing, but it also removes the fun and adrenaline of certain experiences). Ultimately, (here comes a cliché...) it’s about living each moment to the best of your ability because every moment is the last time you’ll experience it, other than in your memory.
Keep coming with new material! It’s great to hear you guys are hard at work... or hardly working ;) I hope I didn’t over analyze it, but that’s my interpretation.
Lots of love and support
Im seeing that moreso as depressing...
as if all the dreams they had they never ended up following...but somewhere inside after everything passed by they still remeber what they origionally wanted..
i guess it could be hopeful too
but im seeing more depressing
yeah. depressing. final answer lol
pretty sure im super pumped for the video and Lovers Lane. Only good can come out of a recording between you and Faber haha
hey brandon :)
i think it was both depressing and hopeful.Depressing because you realize we're growing up, and maybe you hadn't done stuff when you were a kid, or things you wanted to do, you didnt, but hopeful because you have so many opportunities coming your way that';; maybe make up for what you hadn't done. Anddd, so stoked for the new song, you and Faber are both amazing so it should be awesome! p.s cant wait for the FITR vid, miss you guys already!
much love; j-salv
Another great blog Brandon, its great reading them because you always bring out such postivity when you write and it makes me happy and always happy to read the next blog keep up the great work! and I'm glad you had a good 20th birthday! =)
i don't think it was depressing at all. it's reality. it's hopeful because it could really mean something to someone and even if the songs means something different to you then to someone else, it could still give them hope to not grow up too fast... if that makes any sense to you :P
i'm an english major, i'm programmed to find the deeper meaning of things
